HOME
Model of a bedroom, my bedroom, in a suitcase.
This project emerged in a personal quest to recreate a miniature home, one that could follow me anywhere I went. Though it is not an exact replica of any room i’ve had, it features objects, furniture, books and design elements that have followed me through my childhood, through all the rooms i’ve had, through all the moves.
It is a (fictional) version of what I believe my room would look like if my family hadn't moved places throughout my life, if I hadn’t moved out at 17, and if my room would have been left intact, frozen in time. It isn’t a realistic manifestion of said bedroom, since without the moving and change of environments, half of the objects in this space would have probably never made it into my life. I don’t have a bedroom in my family home anymore, which inspired this version, that can follow me into each new home i make.
